Busboys & Poets Review – Washington DC Restaurant Reviews
This restaurant has a real buzz about it and is worth taking the time to visit. They serve from a diverse menu including southern US style food such as Shrimp & Grits, basil tofu, scallops through to desserts including favourites such as carrot cake and brownies.
The restaurant is pretty large, with a staircase right in the middle of the main dining area. It also extends to an outside eating area.
Why the name? It is names in honour of the African American poet, Langston Hughes. Hughes was a Washington DC resident who worked as a busboy and he gained fame after sharing his poetry to renowned American poet Nicholas Vachel Lindsay.
Vegetarian and gluten free meals are available and marked on the menu.
